Woodinville

It’s not exactly Small Town, USA, but it’s pretty darn close. And it’s proximity to Seattle makes this beautiful Sammamish River valley town a natural choice for young families looking to make their money go a little farther without sacrificing everything the city has to offer.

 

Woodinville grew out of a logging community, like many other growing places in the Great Pacific Northwest—today it’s the gateway to Washington’s burgeoning wine industry, with hundreds of wineries, tasting rooms, breweries, and distilleries at every turn.

 

 

With several fine dining options (and one particularly notable “destination” restaurant), charming boutiques, and outdoor venues—downtown attracts locals as well as visitors from far and wide. There’s also a nationally acclaimed garden center in town if you’re inclined.

 

 

Woodinville’s hands-on approach to life is as healthy as it is refreshing. Pull off the road, park, and set off on a bike—stop at any number of independent eateries and take in the local fare. If you prefer a glass of something interesting, odds are the person pouring it also made it.

 

 

Hit the state’s largest microbrewery, the acclaimed outdoor concert series, or hop on the Burke-Gilman trail and bike all the way to Golden Gardens on Elliott Bay. Get out and do it!

 

 

The farther out you go, the more you get. And around here, you can easily do very well for yourself in that department.

 

 

Away from the big city lights, you can look up and see the stars at night. You’re an easy commute to work, downtown Seattle, or the ferry docks to the San Juans and beyond. The simple life is what you’ll find here.
